Emergency Call-Outs
Eastbourne's buildings rarely carry one era of pipework, so we don't guess. We trace the water joint by joint, prove where the leak lives and fix the source, whether that's in a converted Upperton villa or a modern marina flat.
When one pipe feeds half the property, a single split can flood a kitchen, a ceiling and the flat below together. We isolate the burst, repair the damaged section and get the rest of the house back on water.
Dry taps or a feeble trickle, the first job is establishing whether the problem sits in your pipework, at the stopcock or on the water company's side. We restore what can safely be restored and give you a straight plan for the rest.
Drains serving letting rooms and holiday stock lead hard lives, with wipes, fat and hair going down them at every changeover. Anything backing up, smelling or overflowing gets cleared on the spot and checked so it runs freely again.
A working toilet is a condition of trading for much of Eastbourne's hospitality and letting stock. We clear blocked pans and soil pipes, repair failed flushes and cisterns, and leave the room ready for the next guest.
From a tap that won't stop dripping to a seized valve uncovered behind an old bath panel, we isolate the water, replace the worn cartridge, washer or valve, and check the fitting holds under full pressure.
Who We Are
We provide emergency plumber coverage across Eastbourne 24 hours a day, helping with everything from burst pipes and ceiling leaks to blocked drains and toilets. During your first call, we can talk you through turning off the stopcock and anything else worth doing before we arrive.
Work is undertaken by qualified, fully insured plumbers in line with current water regulations. If the first investigation identifies further repairs, these are explained and agreed separately, with written records available for owners, landlords and agents.
Common Call-Outs
The list below covers the majority of the calls we take. A number of these are worth reporting immediately rather than waiting for daylight.
If reaching the stopcock is safe, usually under the kitchen sink, turn it off and leave it off, then open the cold taps to drain the pipes. If hot water is leaking, switch off the boiler or immersion heater too.
Please keep away from electrics if water is near them, and only switch off at the fuse box if it is safe to do so. Catch drips where you can and move valuables, rugs and furniture out of the water's path.
If a ceiling is bulging with water, do not stand under it. If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999 before contacting a plumber.

Leak Detection
A damp patch that keeps spreading, or a water meter that ticks over with every tap shut, still has a source. We trace it with moisture readings and pressure testing, so the repair goes where the water is actually escaping rather than where it happens to show.

Describe what you are seeing to us. The call is taken by a plumber at any hour, weekends and bank holidays included.
Before travelling, we confirm a realistic arrival window along with the rate for the call-out itself.
The water is isolated safely, then the cause is traced so that it is established rather than guessed at.
Most jobs are completed during that visit. Where they cannot be, the property is left safe and a return arranged.
Snap the leak, the pipe or the blocked drain when you call, and we load the van with the right parts before setting off.
CALL 01273 086899No Water?
Six symptoms we get called about most, and what each one usually points to. Whichever it is, we trace it by checking rather than guesswork, then repair and test the pipework before we leave.
Diagnosing Sudden Loss of Water → 01273 086899Everything dry at once places the problem before your taps: the stopcock, the supply pipe, the meter, or in a conversion the shared pipe running to you from the basement. We begin at the incoming side, and if responsibility lies with the water company or the freeholder you get our findings to show them.
Pressure that rises and falls through the day often means a shared supply in a converted building, with every flat drawing on the same pipe at peak times. Conversions confuse this, with rooms fed from whatever pipe was nearest at the time. Establishing what feeds what comes before anything else.
When one outlet stops and the rest still flow, the problem is contained. A seized isolation valve, a tap cartridge clogged with scale or a pipe pinched under the floor will stop a single basin. It takes a careful look along the run to find which.
A daily pattern is a clue by itself. An immersion heater on a timer, a cylinder that runs out after the morning showers or a combi that locks out at peak demand all behave differently. We handle the plumbing side and tell you straight away if a Gas Safe registered engineer is needed.
A bang when a tap or appliance valve shuts is water hammer, and in older Eastbourne houses loose pipe under the floor makes it worse. Turn the stopcock down slightly and try again. If it eases, pressure is part of the cause. If it doesn't, the pipe needs clipping, and that is what turns up most in conversions.
Hoses perish and connections loosen with the vibration of every spin, and a waste pipe partly blocked with lint will back up as the machine empties. If water appears as it fills, look at the inlet hose. If it appears as it drains, the waste is to blame. We check both separately.
Anything leaking is isolated before we leave, and you get told plainly why. If a part is needed, the flat goes back to usable first and the job gets finished after.

Who calls us
Three groups fill most of our Eastbourne diary. Whichever describes you, the service does not change.
Domestic emergency plumbers for burst pipes, leaks, blocked toilets and drains and lost water supply, including evenings and weekends.
Landlord repairs on rented property, reported clearly enough to forward directly to a tenant or a managing agent.
Commercial emergency work for shops, offices and units, covering washrooms, kitchens, drains and water supplies.
On The Job
Isolating one leaking pipe should not mean the whole property stays without water. The failed section is isolated on its own valve where possible, and everything that is sound is returned to service.
This matters most overnight and during cold weather, where heating, hot water and a working toilet are restored as soon as it is safe to do so rather than at the end of the visit.
Also covered
The routes our engineers take to Eastbourne carry them past most of this stretch of coast, so the same cover extends to Seaford and Lewes on the western side and continues through Bexhill-on-Sea to Hastings in the east.
FAQ
Feel free to contact us for more information
Every emergency repair we carry out comes with a written summary of what we found, what we did and anything we recommend, with photos where they help. If the problem points to wider issues in the pipework or drains, we'll tell you honestly what is likely to come up next, which matters when your insurance claim or your next inspection depends on it.
Almost certainly the building's. Communal tanks, shared supply pipes and common-area washrooms are separate from your flat's own pipework and normally the managing agent's responsibility. We can attend, confirm exactly where the leak sits, make the area safe and put our findings in writing, so the agent has something concrete to act on.
On its own, no. Old pipework can carry on for years. It becomes urgent when joints start weeping, the pressure drops off sharply, the water runs discoloured, or an old iron pipe is visibly rusting through. If any of those apply, treat it as a call tonight rather than a quote next month.
Salt-laden air gets into exposed fittings and corrodes brass and copper, and the wind off the sea makes outside pipework freeze faster in a cold snap. Fixing the drip every winter just hides the cause. The lasting fix is usually properly lagged pipework and a frost-protected outside tap with its own isolation valve, and in the meantime we can isolate that one pipe so the rest of the house keeps its water.
