Emergency Call-Outs

Emergency Plumbing Repairs

The problems we get called out to most, day and night. If yours isn't listed, ring us anyway. We'll tell you straight away whether it needs a plumber tonight or can wait until morning.

Leak Detection

Hidden leaks under floors, behind walls and in ceilings traced with proper detection equipment, so the repair fixes the cause rather than the damp patch.

Burst Pipes

A split pipe pouring water, a failed joint or a pipe nailed through during building work. We get the water stopped and the pipe repaired.

No Water & Low Pressure

Taps running dry across the house, or a trickle where there should be a flow. We find where the supply stops and get it running again.

Blocked Drains

Sinks that won't empty, gurgling plugholes or a manhole backing up outside. Stop running water into it and call, this one shouldn't wait.

Blocked Toilets

A toilet that won't flush away, water rising to the rim, or the only toilet in the house out of action. We clear it and find out why it blocked.

Leaking Taps & Valves

A tap that won't turn off, a dripping isolation valve, or a leak under the sink soaking the cupboard. We isolate, repair and test for leaks.

Common Plumbing Emergencies

These are the calls we take most often. Any of them is worth a phone call, and several of them shouldn't wait until morning.

  • Burst or split pipe
  • Water coming through the ceiling
  • No water from any tap
  • Blocked or overflowing toilet
  • Blocked sink or drain
  • Tap that won't turn off
  • Stopcock stuck or leaking
  • Leak near electrics
  • No hot water
  • Frozen pipes

While You Wait For Us

Turn off the water at the stopcock, usually under the kitchen sink. If hot water is leaking, switch off the boiler or immersion heater, then open the cold taps to drain the system down.

Keep away from electrics if water is near them, catch drips in buckets and move valuables out of the way. If water is coming through a ceiling that is bulging, do not stand under it.

If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999.

Leak Detection

Finding the Leak,
Not Just the Damp Patch

A damp patch rarely sits directly below the leak causing it. We trace the water back to its source with proper detection equipment, section by section, so the repair fixes what's actually wrong rather than lifting floors on a guess.

No Water?

Lost Pressure or No Hot Water?

Whether it's the whole property or a single tap, the cause is usually traceable. Here's what we look for at a glance.

See how we diagnose it → 01273 086899

Complete loss of supply

Nothing from any tap. We check whether the supply has failed in the street or inside your property.

Low pressure

Water arrives as a trickle. Often a part-closed or failing stopcock, a hidden leak or a furred-up pipe.

One tap or outlet dead

A single tap, toilet or shower with no flow, often a closed isolation valve or a blocked filter.

No hot water

Cold from the hot tap. We check the cylinder, immersion heater and pipework, and the plumbing side of the boiler.

Pipe noise and banging

Knocking or hammering when taps close usually points to loose pipework, high pressure or a worn valve.

Appliance leak

A washing machine, dishwasher or water softener leaking is often a split hose or a failed valve, not the pipework.

Whatever the cause, we aim to diagnose it and get the water under control as quickly as possible. Where a full repair needs parts or daylight, we'll restore everything we safely can and book the follow-up before we leave.

Homes & Businesses

Domestic and Commercial,
Same Response Either Way

Burst pipes, blocked drains, overflowing toilets, leaks through the ceiling, no water at all. The same team handles them in a flat, a family home, a shop floor or an office, at whatever hour they happen.

The vans carry pipe, fittings, valves, drain rods and a jetter for the jobs that come up most, plus the detection kit to prove where the problem sits. Most call-outs are finished on the first visit, priced before the work starts and tested for leaks before we leave.

TALK TO A PLUMBER

Drains & Toilets

Emergency Drain & Toilet Repairs

Two of the most common emergency call-outs, and two of the ones people most often try to live with. A drain that keeps gurgling or a toilet that is slow to clear is telling you something.

Drain Emergencies

Stop running water into the drain until we've had a look.

  • Blocked kitchen sinks
  • Slow or gurgling drains
  • Manholes backing up outside
  • Sewage smells indoors
  • Blocked baths and showers
  • Overflowing outside gullies

Toilet Emergencies

Don't keep flushing a toilet that is already filling up.

  • Blocked toilets
  • Water rising to the rim
  • Toilets that won't flush
  • Cisterns constantly running
  • Leaks at the toilet base
  • Broken flush mechanisms

FAQs Made Simple

FIND YOUR ANSWERS
What counts as a plumbing emergency?

A burst pipe, water coming through a ceiling, a leak you can't stop, water near electrics, a blocked or overflowing toilet when it's the only one, sewage backing up, or no water at all. If you're not sure, ring us. Advice over the phone costs nothing.

How quickly can an emergency plumber arrive?

Our average arrival time across the service area is under 60 minutes, day or night. You'll be given a realistic window when you call rather than a guess, and we'll tell you if we're further out.

How much does an emergency plumber cost?

You're told the call-out rate before anyone sets off, and the cost of any repair is confirmed after we've diagnosed the problem and before we carry on. There are no surprise out-of-hours mark-ups added afterwards.

Can you attend during the night or at weekends?

Yes. Evenings, weekends and bank holidays are covered, and the phone is answered by a plumber rather than an answering service.

Can you help landlords and letting agents?

Yes. We take call-outs directly from tenants where you'd prefer, and provide a written record of what was found and what was done so it can go straight into your property file.

Do you provide commercial emergency call-outs?

Yes. Shops, offices, restaurants and other commercial premises, including washrooms, commercial kitchens and blocked drains. Where downtime matters we can often attend before opening or overnight.

Looking for something more specific? Our leak detection, burst pipe, no water & low pressure, blocked drain, blocked toilet and tap & valve repair pages each answer the questions specific to that problem in more depth.
